1. Who is the installment facility for?

For all holders of principal cards who would like to keep their financial flexibility despite higher expenditure: You spread the costs over several months according to your personal financial planning.

2. How does the installment facility work?

Instead of paying the whole credit card statement all at once, you can distribute repayment over several months. Each month you decide yourself which amount you want to transfer. The monthly minimum amount is indicated clearly on your monthly statement.

3. What do I have to do to use the installment facility?

First you should check if the installment facility is already active for your credit card. You can see this by looking at your monthly statement.
If the amount below "Minimum payment" is lower than the total amount of your monthly invoice, this means that the installment facility is active. You may maximize the use of your credit card and enjoy the flexibility of the installment facility within your card spending limit.

4. What do I need to do if the installment facility is not activated for my credit card?

Please print out the form, sign it, and send it to Swisscard AECS GmbH. We will pay the postage for you. Please use the franked template for this.

We will process your application for the installment facility as quickly as possible and, following the credit assessment, confirm to you in writing whether or not it was accepted. If we require further information on your financial situation or credit rating, we will of course contact you.

5. Do I have to use the installment facility if it is active?

No, the installment facility is available for you if it has been activated, and you may use it as and when you want.

6. What is the credit amount available for me?

We assess your credit rating according to the details given by you. Following this assessment, we define a credit limit for your credit card, which corresponds to the spending limit of your card. You may use the installment facility within your credit limit.

Please note that we will adjust your credit limit should your financial situation deteriorate. This is for your own protection. As a matter of course, your credit limit may also rise along with an improvement of your financial situation (see question 7).

7. What do I have to do if I would like to have a higher credit limit?

If your financial situation improves, it is possible to increase your credit limit.
If you have activated the card function installment facility or would like to activate it, simply apply for it with this form:

We will process your application as swiftly as possible and get in touch with you to communicate our decision.
If the card function installment facility is not active, please call our Customer Service department if you wish to have your limit increased.

8. Do I have to transfer the same amount every month?

No. Depending on your individual financial planning arrangement, you may define for yourself the level of the payments each month. Only the minimum payment is mandatory. Your bank account will not be debited automatically each month, but you keep the control over the amounts you pay with the help of the payment slip.

9. For how many consecutive months can I pay in installments?

It is for you to decide. With every monthly statement, you yourself make the decision about the amount to pay. The only mandatory amount due every month is a minimum payment of 5% of the statement amount, but no less than CHF 50.

10. Can I pay the remaining balance all at once whenever I decide I want to?

Of course. This option is available at all times. The remaining balance is indicated in your monthly statement under "New balance in our favor".

11. How much does the installment facility cost me?

You pay an annual percentage rate of 12%.

12. What happens if I get into financial distress?

We recommend planning your budget carefully. The balance protection insurance covers your payment obligation in the framework of the insurance conditions, so that in the event of a sudden emergency situation, such as disability or unemployment, you suffer no financial shortages.
